Growing a Brand Where Every Visit Gives Back

House of Kalee is Lebanon's first restaurant for dogs, and a socially responsible business connected to Mount Lebanon Dog Shelter. The challenge was to make that mission as memorable as the concept itself.

Growing a Brand Where Every Visit Gives Back
01

Mission moved from the margins of the story to its centre

02

A social voice led by personality, warmth and community

03

Recurring formats: dog spotlights, behind-the-bowl, rescue stories

04

Social responsibility built into the value proposition, not an occasional campaign

The brief

A restaurant for dogs, with a deeper purpose

House of Kalee is Lebanon's first restaurant for dogs: a welcoming place where pups and their people can share homemade, vet-reviewed meals, spend time together, and connect with a wider community of dog lovers.

It is also a socially responsible business. Inspired by Kaleesy, a beloved rescue dog, House of Kalee is connected to the work of Mount Lebanon Dog Shelter. A portion of every purchase helps care for dogs in need. The challenge was to make that mission as memorable as the concept itself.

The goal

Turn a novel business into a meaningful brand

House of Kalee already had an idea people would notice. But being known as a fun restaurant for dogs was not enough. The brand needed to communicate why it exists, what makes the experience special, and how visiting connects to the shelter's rescue and care work.

We helped clarify House of Kalee's position at the intersection of three ideas: a dog-first food experience, a community space, and a business that gives back. The relationship became simple and tangible: the care people show their own dogs here helps extend care to dogs still waiting for safety, healing and a home.

The origin

Inspired by one dog. Dedicated to them all.

House of Kalee was born from the bond between a dog and her human. Kalee — or Kaleesi — was family, teacher, healer and muse. Her presence changed a life, and that love now lives in every corner of the space.\n\nThe travelling Kalee illustration became part of a flexible visual world: warm, playful and unmistakably connected to the dog at the heart of the story.

The model

We connected the business model to the mission

Rather than presenting the shelter relationship as a separate charitable initiative, we built it into the brand story.

The founder's connection to rescue work, the story of Kaleesy, the contribution made through purchases, and opportunities to meet adoptable dogs all became part of one narrative. House of Kalee could speak about quality food, joyful experiences and rescue without sounding like three different organisations.

The voice

A social voice led by personality, warmth and community

On social media we shifted the emphasis away from polished advertisements, constant promotion and menu-heavy graphics. The content needed to feel like the space itself: playful, warm, welcoming, and full of dogs with unmistakable personalities.

What the content was built around

  • 01

Relatable dog-parent humour, with dogs as characters

  • 02

    Authentic moments from the restaurant

  • 03

The care and freshness behind each meal

  • 04

Customer dogs, community gatherings and shared experiences

  • 05

Hopeful rescue stories and ways to support adoption

Less polished advertising. More lived-in energy.

Recurring formats such as dog spotlights, playful point-of-view videos, behind-the-bowl content, community events and shelter stories helped create a more recognisable brand world, and gave people a reason to follow, share and return.

The concept reveal

"This is not a pet-friendly cafe. This is a restaurant for dogs." A direct, surprising hook made the business immediately understandable and highly shareable.

The community post

Dogs with personality, recognisable dog-parent behaviour, and an invitation to join the conversation rather than simply buy something.

The mission in action

Showing the link between restaurant and shelter work in a concrete, hopeful way gave the audience a deeper reason to stay connected.

Why it worked

The strongest posts did more than promote a product. They gave people an immediate reason to care, and let the dogs carry the storytelling.
